- Goal
- Strengthen the co-management of the Amarakaeri community reserve in south-east Peru and the implementation of forest conservation agreements in four communities in the reserve's buffer zone.
- Activities
-
Strengthening the management capacities of the representation of indigenous communities that manage the reserve in co-management with the government. We do this through the development of innovative management tools, with an emphasis on Life Plans and a strategy for financial sustainability.
-
Implementation of forest conservation agreements (in collaboration with the National Forest Conservation Programme for Mitigation of Climate Change PNCBMCC). These agreements are a condition for direct funding for forest conservation compensation. Their implementation focuses on community monitoring.
-
Integrating the value chain of banana produced in agroforestry systems, in order to make direct beneficiaries more aware of the value of the reserve in a concrete way.
